Postus Epicus

Considering this is my first post on my blog that I've had for almost two years, and done nothing with, I wanted it to be meaningful. By the way, this is all coming off the top of my head, just like my hair, so if you find the writing style a tad risque, deal with it.

What should go into someone's blog? Especially a first post nonetheless. Who knows....It could be about mutated morphing cow-cats that, well, in all honesty would never get dehydrated. Now i'm thinking they could be used for an army, but that's another story. Back on track, hopefully. A blog, is something someone writes stuff in, which by definition I'm doing pretty well.

Contents of a blog must have meaning, even when a blog has no purpose, it's purpose is to have no purpose, and yes, I'm confusing you on purpose. So that makes it a purposeful purpose. Unless you are a type of marine animal, then it's just a porpoise. I really have no idea what to type about but any suggestions are welcome, don't know if I'll ever read them, but if you would like to leave one to make your conscience feel better then by all means, DO IT!

Four paragraphs is nice, I think that's more than most people write for their blogs, and considering this is my first post, it's not too shabby! Maybe my next one will have some meaning to it. I will not tell you what I'm going to write about as the suspense is what I desire to have people keep coming back and reading this incoherent babble! Ciao!

  1. YOU HAVE A BLOG!!! Way to get with five years ago. =D

I say that out of love, I assure you. :P

As far as what to write about goes, I am the last one to give advice on that. I am the least inspired person to write on Earth. For sure.

Most of my writing is done very late at night when a thought pops into my head all of the sudden. Then, I lay there are think about it for a long time. I literally right out an entire post in my head and then go over it with a fine-toothed comb until it seems perfect.

When I can't take it anymore for fear of forgetting about the subject matter by morning, I get my laptop out and type away.

Most of the time, the resulting post is similar to what I envisioned for the past hour, sometimes it's nothing like it.

But, when something intrigues you or you find you have a lot to say about something in particular, just write! Write as little or as much as you want. You can always go back over it and edit the entire thing before posting it. Take things out that don't fit, add more in.

Take out the random sentences that find there way into there, or not.

If you look at my post about teenagers and maturity (http://thepagesofmybook.blogspot.com/2010/06/when-you-look-at-person-any-person.html), I started in one place, veered of into something that very easily could have been it's very own post, and then ended with a conclusion that finally did relate to what I was originally there to write about.

I'm lucky to push out a hand full of posts a month, and not all of them really mean anything. Last month, I did a "My Personal Goals" list just to do it. It was something that meant nothing to anyone but me and it was fun. In July, I did an entire post on the pros and cons of Eastern Michigan University and Buffalo State College.

Sometimes, good posts come out that mean something to me and even wind up with a few comments from my bloggy friends.

When in doubt, this great piece of advice from Oh Wise One Mira is something I always keep in mind: "Write for yourself, and you cannot fail." (http://thepagesofmybook.blogspot.com/2010/06/sometimes-i-hate-being-tall.html)

    Have fun blogging! ^_^

  3. It's weird (but cool) to be quoted. *^_^*

As for a purpose, well as we discussed earlier, sometimes a purpose is just to be who you are.

And I'm entering the phase where words start to sound weird. Weeeeeee!!!
